Evergreen - Kota the Friend

All my brothers want houses by the same lake
Took the kayak, and saw em all the same day
I ain't hop into my vehicle in eight days
Ten, twenty years I see myself in the same place

All my niggas want cabins in the mountains
Sitting on the clouds
Used to see em from the ground
Now they see us looking down
Forgive em all when I say grace

We was grazing the poverty line
Now it's the property lines
Laughing at our pain
Niggas it's always comedy time
Mama in a deep sleep
Knowing that I'ma be fine
Folks bring up labels in the chat like I'm tryna be signed
They waiting for an answer all they see is three dots on the line

Ugh

With great power comes you know the rest
I didn't get it till recently
It used to be eating me
Stooping to your level where you nearly defeated me
Noticed who I was then I went where I need to be
Let the hate go and saw the people that needed me
And now I only give you energy if you feeding me
It feels good knowing what I'm seeking is seeking me
It feels good knowing all my people can see the dream

A sacrificial life
What it mean to be a vessel
For the light
On a level outta sight
I ain't saying that I'm right
I'm just saying that I'm real
I ain't hiding any blights

I ain't here to save the globe
I'm just here to do my part
I ain't here to take your woes
I just turn em into art

The earth keep me grounded
Tryna leave this place
A lil better than I found it
My team fly as hell
You won't find a better outfit
Out in Evergreen, we can move a fuckin' mountain
And everything around it. That's really how I feel
