Dog - Public Works

You want my love and affection, you need my time and attention
But you just don′t seem to get it, just like I don't get the message
You wanted flowers and dresses, and fancy dinners and necklaces
I′m just trying my best to feel like I won't make a mess of it

I've got a dog
That′s my homie, I′ll take that lil' fucker out of walls
I′ma take him out and buy him whatever he wants
I'ma spend some time teaching tricks
Just because I just let him run, yeah
I′ve got a dog
He don't wanna change the way I look and how I talk
He don′t need attention from every dude when he's drunk
He just wants to eat, sleep, run, play, jump
We like to have fun, yeah
I've got a dog

You like to fight with me for real, he likes to play fight
You tryna treat me like a dog, girl, it ain′t right
You barking orders at me, telling me to stay by your side
Like I taught my K9
Can teach an old dog new tricks
I get him bad, now you want this
I love my dog, girl, you a bitch

I′ve got a dog
That's my homie, I′ll take that lil' fucker out of walls
I′ma take him out and buy him whatever he wants
I'ma spend some time teaching tricks
Just because I just let him run, yeah
I′ve got a dog
He don't wanna change the way I look and how I talk
He don't need attention from every dude when he′s drunk
He just wants to eat, sleep, run, play, jump
We like to have fun, yeah
I′ve got a dog

I'm not what you want, and I try to be
He writes for me, and he don′t lie to me
So keep calling, I won't answer
I left you in the past ′cause we're tryna run faster

I′ve got a dog
That's my homie, I'll take that lil′ fucker out of walls
I′ma take him out and buy him whatever he wants
I'ma spend some time teaching tricks
Just because I just let him run, yeah
I′ve got a dog
He don't wanna change the way I look and how I talk
He don′t need attention from every dude when he's drunk
He just wants to eat, sleep, run, play, jump
We like to have fun, yeah
